Every other year, an MCC Parent Satisfaction/Communication survey is sent out to parents/guardians of Pre-K through 12th grade students to provide an opportunity to give feedback to the district. This year's results can be found here and also on the district website under the "Parents" document link.
All individual comments have been read. Comments that were directed to or about specific staff members have been shared and discussed both positive and negative.
Regarding safety/discipline, PBIS (Positive Behavior
Interventions & Supports) seeks to reduce or eliminate poor behavior school
wide through the teaching and encouragement of positive behaviors. There is an
anonymous Reporting Form on
the district website under the "Parent" or "Student"
document links. This provides a platform to report bullying or a concern that you may have about a friend’s
well-being, for example, depression, drug or alcohol abuse, eating disorder,
etc. All information will be kept confidential.
Regarding MCC’s COVID response, the district made a
commitment in the fall of 2020 to try and do everything possible to remain in
person for learning. We know that this is best for learning and also best for their
mental health. The requirements that have been sent to us from the
Department of Health and the Department of Education have been and will
continue to be followed. We understand and know that some of these requirements
are difficult and sometimes do not make sense but we are leaving the health
decisions up to the health professionals. Mask wearing is still a statewide
mandate but we do hope and look forward to the day when this will be lifted. The
quarantine requirements again come from the Department of Health and we have consistently
followed these for the safety of all students and staff. What other school’s do
in regards to following or not following requirements is out of MCC’s control.
In regards to the website and MCC’s social media and calendars, the K-12 activity calendar is the place to go for all updated activities. This is updated the day that changes, additions, or deletions are made. Also, for those that have not yet downloaded the MCC School app, this is directly linked to the school’s website and is an easy way to stay connected to what is happening at MCC. For Apple devices, download the app here. For Android devices, download the app here.
Thank you to everyone that provided feedback on the survey. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and become better. Your feedback is valuable in this process. We also encourage communication to happen by following the proper chain of command to address issues in a timely manner.
