Girls on the Run is an intentional, expressive program that helps girls in grades 3-5 become connected, healthy and confident through learning about self-esteem, positive thinking, and so much more, all while integrating running into their lives. Practices are twice a week, culminating in a 5K run in Sioux Falls later on this fall! Practice will run 3:30-4:45 on Mondays and Thursdays, beginning September 9th. We still have registrations open and I would LOVE your girls to participate--it's such a great chance for them to have both physical activity and a means of developing that precious assertiveness and self-confidence. We also need coaches! If you're interested in making a positive difference in the lives of young women, please contact Katie Chapman at katie@shetek.org. We have a coaches' training coming up at the end of August. Each coach must complete a training and be available for at least one practice a week. NO running or coaching experience necessary--sometimes learning along the way sets the best example for our kids as well!
